NEW ARRIVAL · SPRING 2026 · BY MIKE LOPRIORE
The Flora Pointy Slingback is our new spring 2026 silhouette — a refined pointed-toe slingback in Italian leather, with the slim heel-strap that defines the style and the soft pointed line that lengthens the leg. Handmade in Italy, available in Brown and Latte, $265.
Every spring my sister Giada and I have the same argument. She wants the new heel. I want the new flat. Some years we both win, some years we both lose. This year — with Flora — we both won at once. It’s a pointed slingback, but flat. It reads polished, but you can walk in it. It dresses up linen, but it doesn’t fight a pair of jeans. It’s the rare silhouette that solves everything we usually have to choose between.
Below: a closer look at the Flora Pointy Slingback — the construction, the colors, and a few outfits I’d build around it for spring.
The pointed slingback is having a quiet renaissance, and there’s a reason. The pointed toe lengthens the leg in a way no other flat does. The slingback strap settles right at the ankle bone, which keeps the shoe secure without the visual weight of a closed back. Together, the two details make a flat shoe look like it has more in common with a heel than with a sneaker.
We finished Flora in the kind of soft, supple Italian leather that softens to your foot within the first three wears. The footbed is leather-lined for breathability. The sole is hand-stitched. The result feels like a heel from the ankle up and a slipper from the ankle down.
THE NEW LAUNCH
Handmade in Italy in two warm leathers — Brown and Latte. The pointed line of a pump, the comfort of a flat.
Shop Flora →Flora comes in two colors, and they’re both worth talking about because each one styles differently.
Leather Brown is the more serious of the two — a saturated chocolate that reads polished with tailoring. Wear it with cream trousers, a navy blazer, a white shirt with the sleeves rolled. It’s the shoe you wear when you want the outfit to look intentional but you don’t want to add a heel.
Leather Latte is the softer one — a warm taupe-beige that disappears against bare skin and reads almost neutral. Wear it with a cream dress, with light denim, with linen the color of pale honey. It’s the shoe that lets the outfit do the talking.
A pointed slingback is the rare silhouette that solves everything we usually have to choose between — polish and comfort, dress and denim, heel and flat.
Look 1 — The Easy Spring Office. A cropped straight-leg trouser, a tucked white shirt, the Brown Flora. Soft pointed line at the foot, exposed ankle, a watch the only jewelry. Lunch, meeting, dinner. Twelve hours, no fatigue.
Look 2 — A Long Weekend. Vintage denim with a cuff, a fine-knit camisole in cream, the Latte Flora. A canvas tote, sunglasses. The kind of outfit that looks accidental on purpose.
Look 3 — The Dinner That Started as Drinks. A midi dress in a small floral, the Brown Flora, a slim crossbody. The slingback strap means you can dance without losing the shoe.
For three reasons. First, slingbacks are quieter than they look — the strap reads chic, not loud. Second, the pointed-flat silhouette works with everything a sandal works with, and a few things a sandal doesn’t (think wool trousers in early spring). Third, Italian slingbacks last. Our atelier in Bergamo has been making this construction since 1986; with a leather sole and a hand-stitched footbed, this is a five-summer shoe.
If you’ve been waiting for a slingback that doesn’t commit you to a stiletto, Flora is the answer.

Shop All Italian Flats →What is a pointy slingback flat?
A pointy slingback flat combines the pointed-toe shape of a pump with the open-back strap of a slingback, on a flat sole. The Flora Pointy Slingback by Michele Lopriore is an Italian-made example in soft leather, designed to lengthen the leg like a heel while keeping the comfort of a flat. Available in Leather Brown and Leather Latte for $265.
Can you wear flat slingbacks to the office?
Yes. A pointed flat slingback in Italian leather reads as polished as a kitten heel in business-casual environments. Pair it with cropped trousers and a tucked shirt, or with a pencil skirt and a cardigan. The Flora Slingback in Leather Brown is the most office-appropriate of the two colors.
Do Italian slingbacks run small?
Italian slingbacks run about half a US size small. A US 8 customer typically wears an IT 38 at Michele Lopriore. Italian lasts are narrower in the heel and slightly wider in the toe box. When in doubt, size up half — leather softens to your foot, it doesn’t tighten.
What is the Flora Slingback made of?
The Flora Pointy Slingback is made of full-grain Italian leather, with a leather-lined insole and a hand-stitched leather sole. Construction takes place in our Bergamo atelier. The leather is sourced from Tuscan tanneries.
What colors does the Flora Slingback come in?
The Flora Pointy Slingback is available in Leather Brown (a saturated chocolate) and Leather Latte (a warm taupe-beige). Both are full-grain Italian leather, handmade in our Bergamo workshop.
